About Dazzlecats British Shorthairs & Maine Coons
We are Sarah and Norman Davison from Leeds, West Yorkshire.
We are hobby breeders of pedigree British Shorthair and Maine Coon cats and kittens. We have now acquired our new breeding prefix which is Dazzlecats. .This will be used for our British Shorthairs and Maine Coon kittens. Our cats are very much loved members of the family first and foremost and their health and wellbeing is paramount to us. We make sure they all spend time in the house being part of a family environment as well as having time in the cattery enjoying the fresh air and company of the rest of our feline family. All our kittens are brought up within the family home and very well socialized when they leave.
You can get a brief glimpse of our wonderful British Shorthair family past and present on our banner at the top of this page.
Our aim is to breed healthy and happy kittens that are well socialised and used to every day life. All our kittens will be born indoors and brought up underfoot within the family home.
We aim to concentrate on the Blue Selfs, Blue Creams, lilacs and Creams in the British Shorthairs.
Our thanks go to Sue Bennet at Abbey Kennels for entrusting us with Izzy and also to the other breeders who have entrusted us with cats that have been part of our breeding programme in the past but have gone on to new homes to live out their retirement. One such cat is Mia our foundation blue girl who will always be missed here but is living her new life as a very spoilt little pussy cat and to her new owners Linda and Richard we are eternally grateful.
We also have a very naughty Blue Silver Tortie Tabby And White Maine Coon girl as part of our feline family. She is called Linnel Mybaby but we know her as Ruby (Boobie she gets from us).
There is never a dull moment with Ruby around as she is a real monkey but very loving with it. She is a very vocal girl and especially chatters and chirps away if she sees birds or a dog as I have now found out.
Ruby has been out on the show circuit although she is not a very big fan of travelling and seemed to get quite stressed by the whole ordeal. We will try her again as she is gorgeous and we think she will continue to do very well.
A very big thankyou goes to Linda Dutton at Linnel for entrusting us with our very naughty but loveable girl.
Also courtesy of Ruby being part of our feline family is our newest edition Dazzlecats Tru Purfection otherwise known Tula (Tula Woola she gets from the children). Tula is a solid blue tortie and white Maine Coon and is the daughter of Ruby.
Tula is so much like her mum in every way possible and is such a monkey. Life would be very dull without her. I could never imagine life without her now and the prospect of homing her was too much to bear so she ended up staying here with us.
Her sister Talei will also appear on the show bench at some stage and has gone on to be part of a solid colour breeding programme for Alison Milligan at Westlakes in Cumbria. We look forward to seeing how she does and watching her grow.
Another member of our Maine Coon family is our homebred baby Dazzlecats A Whole New World otherwise known as Georgia. Georgia is a brown tabby and white Maine Coon and is another daughter of Ruby and TJ.
Georgia is a gorgeous girl. Very loving and such a big softie. We are hoping that in the not too distant future she will make her debut out on the show bench.
Last but not least is Linnel Sunset Boulevarde otherwise known as Savannah. Savannah is a tortie tabby and white Maine Coon and has come to us from Linda Dutton at Linnel Cats. Savannah is the daughter of Raine who is Ruby's litter sister so it is rather special she is here with us.
A very big thankyou goes to Anne Waite at Olirose for allowing us the opportunity to use her gorgeous stud boy Ch Julescoon Toby Jug or TJ for short as without her and of course him our gorgeous maine coon family wouldnt have expanded. Anne has also guided us a lot on our Maine Coon journey which has only just begun so thankyou Anne your advice and help is greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank Julie Chadwick at Lionmaine and Linda Dutton at Linnel for all their help and advice along the way too. Especially Linda for entrusting us with two gorgeous girls.
We did originally start out breeding the Ragdolls but after having lots of bad luck with our litters decided not to breed them anymore and concentrate on the other two breeds we have been sucessful with. We did however have two good things out of our Ragdoll journey. One is our gorgeous girl Faith who is a homebred baby and gave us our last ever litter of beautiful ragdoll kittens. She is absolutely gorgeous. The second being our wonderful friend and mentor Jeanette Fitzpatrick at Emerisle Cats. Jeanette has been our saviour and godsend when everything went wrong by keeping me sane. If it hadnt have been for her we would have given up breeding a long time ago. Sadly the Ragdolls were not to be for us but we will enjoy our other breeds just as much.
We have attended a breeding seminar with TBRCC (The British Ragdoll Cat Club) and are also members of PRBCC, UKRCC, British Shorthair Cat Club, Yorkshire County Cat Club, Maine Coon Cat Club and Semi Long Hair Cat Association.
We can be seen out on the show bench with Ruby my Blue Silver Tortie Tabby and White Maine Coon girl.
We are also the proud owners of two show neuter male Maine Coons. Samson a Red Classic Tabby and Jensen a Brown Classic Tabby With White.
A very big thankyou goes to Gillian and Clare at Windbags for entrusting us with Samson we are forever grateful.
All their progress can be seen on their individual show pages.
Finally we would like to say an even bigger thankyou to all the people over the past four years that have given loving homes to our babies that we have bred. Most of which keep in touch and let us know how they are getting on. Photo's can be seen on our Kittens In Their New Homes Page. We love to have updates on our babies once they leave us for their new homes and proudly show these on our website. Messages are also copied there and can also be found on our guestbook page too.
